Prohibited & Restricted Items
This policy applies to every listing, photo, message and review, and to anything you offer through a listing. It follows Indian law. If the law and this page differ, the stricter rule applies. Breaking it gets the listing removed, and may suspend the account, cancel paid extras without refund for that listing and be reported to the police or another authority.
Never allowed
- Weapons: firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks in bulk, swords and knives sold as weapons, pepper spray, tasers and parts to make any of them.
- Drugs: narcotics and psychotropic substances, cannabis products, prescription-only medicines, abortion pills, steroids, tobacco and vape products sold to or advertised at minors, and drug paraphernalia. E-cigarettes and vaping devices are banned in India.
- Stolen or unlawfully held goods: stolen items, items with no proof of ownership when we ask, locked or blacklisted phones, vehicles with forged or no papers, and cloned SIMs.
- Counterfeit and pirated goods: fake or replica branded goods, pirated software, films, books and subscriptions, and anything that infringes copyright, trademark or design rights.
- Wildlife and animals: any protected species or part (ivory, skins, shells, antlers, live wild birds), and animals sold in cruel conditions. Pets may be listed only where lawful and with honest details.
- Human body: organs, blood, tissue, bodily fluids, human remains, and surrogacy or sex-selection services.
- Adult and exploitative content: sexual services, escorts, adult material, and any content that sexualises or endangers a child. Content showing a person in a private or intimate image without consent is removed at once and reported.
- Hate and violence: content that promotes hatred of, or violence against, a group (caste, religion, gender, region, disability), terrorism or self-harm.
- Fraud and scams: advance-fee or lottery schemes, fake jobs and visas, get-rich-quick or pyramid schemes, loans that ask for an upfront fee, fake or cloned listings, listings with another person's photos, and anything meant to cheat.
- Financial and regulated products: lottery tickets, betting and gambling services, unlicensed investment or crypto offers, forged or fake documents, certificates and currency, and sale of personal data, accounts or OTPs.
- Hazardous items: chemicals and pesticides that need a licence, radioactive material, asbestos, and unsafe goods the law bans.
- Government property and IDs: official uniforms, badges, number plates, seals, and government-issued IDs or their data.
- Other: anything illegal to sell, advertise or possess in India, or that a court or authority has told us to remove.
Restricted: allowed only with the right disclosure or licence
- Property: under-construction projects must show their RERA registration number; a false number is fraud. Say whether you are owner or agent, and do not list a property you cannot show or sell. No discrimination by religion, caste or marital status in sale or rent listings.
- Jobs: a real employer and role. No fee from applicants, no gender preference (unless the law allows it for the role) and no discriminatory terms.
- Vehicles: real registration and ownership papers, honest year and kilometres, and known accident, flood or major-repair history.
- Medical devices, medicines and health goods: only with the licence the law needs, and no claim that cures a disease.
- Food and groceries: sold only by licensed sellers where the law requires it (FSSAI), unspoiled and within date, with correct labels.
- Alcohol: not listed, except where a state law and licence allow it.
- Pets and livestock: healthy, vaccinated where the law requires, and with correct age and breed.
- Electronics: real IMEI or serial, not reported lost or stolen; used goods described honestly.
- Services: only where you hold any licence the work needs. Be clear about what is included and what you charge.
- Brand and used goods: genuine items with an honest description. Say if a product is refurbished, repaired or has a part replaced.
Listing quality rules
- One item per ad (unless it is a set), in the right category, with your own photos.
- An honest price. No placeholder prices such as ₹1 to trick search; no "call for price" spam.
- No phone numbers, emails or links in the title or description. Use the chat.
- No duplicate ads or reposting a removed ad.
What happens if a listing breaks the rules
- A moderator reviews each report and may remove the listing at once. The seller is told which rule applied.
- The seller can ask for another review from My listings → Removed; a different moderator decides.
- Serious or repeat breaches suspend the account. Illegal content is reported to the authorities.
- For a complaint about our decision, see the Complaints process.
Reporting a violation
On a listing, open the … menu on its photos and choose Report. In a chat, use Get help. You can also report a user or a review. We never tell the seller who reported. If you see something dangerous or illegal, also call the police (112), or report cybercrime at cybercrime.gov.in (helpline 1930). For anything else write to [grievance email].
