Help & Safety

Report a listing or a conversation

On a listing, open the … menu on its photos and choose Report. In a chat, use Get help. Both go straight to our moderation queue.

Staying safe

  • Meet in a public place and inspect the item before paying.
  • Never pay in full before seeing the item in person.
  • Look for the Verified tick by the seller's name, and see what we checked on their profile.

Common scams

  • Advance or token payment: "pay a booking amount, courier or army/transfer fee first". Real sellers let you inspect first.
  • Fake payment screenshot: a screenshot or "payment done" message proves nothing. Check your own bank or UPI app for the money before you hand over the item.
  • OTP or PIN request: nobody needs your OTP, UPI PIN, CVV or password to buy or pay you. A "collect request" is you paying, not receiving.
  • Suspicious links: a payment or "verification" link sent in chat is usually fake. Don't enter card, bank or Aadhaar details on it.
  • Moving off the site: requests to continue on WhatsApp, Telegram or a call. Staying in the chat keeps a record we can act on.
  • Too good to be true: prices far below market, a seller who can't meet, or stock photos.

Met one? Use Report on the ad or Get help in the chat, and choose Scam or fraud. If you lost money, call 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in at once.

Meeting in person

  • Meet in a busy public place in daylight, such as a mall, cafe or a police-station lobby. Not a private home or a lonely spot.
  • Tell someone where you are going and bring a friend if you can. Keep your phone charged.
  • Inspect and test the item before you pay. Pay on handover, never before.
  • Leave if the buyer or seller changes the place, the price or the terms at the last minute, or pressures you.
  • For high-value items, meet at a bank or use a tracked, insured courier.

The Verified badge

A tick beside a name means we checked that person's government ID (and business documents for dealers and businesses) against their name. Sellers pay for the badge yearly; paying never passes a check. The tick shows only while the badge runs and the account is in good standing. It isn't a guarantee: see the item before you pay.

Priority ID Review is separate: an optional fee to have a document reviewed sooner. It never changes the result.
